Pallet Live Storage

Pallet live storage is a type of pallet racking that is fed from the back, with rails automatically pushing pallet to the front of the racking. In this way, pallet live storage allows for very high density storage while still achieving a first in, first out system. Because of this, pallet live storage is very effective for situations that require good storage density while also ensuring that stock is frequently rotated.

Because it’s loaded in the back and picked in the front, pallet live storage requires that both the front and back of the racking be accessible to materials handling equipment. Although there is some loss of storage space here, it’s more than made up for by the fact that pallet rows and be quite deep; deeper than double deep pallet racking.

As pallets are stored in rows, pallet live storage works best in situations where there are multiple pallets of the same SKU. This way all the pallets can go on the same row for easy picking.

Benefits of Pallet Live Storage

Pallet live storage is a great system for many applications. It has a few universal benefits as well:

  • First in, first out high density storage.
  • Fast picking with the next pallet automatically moved into place.
  • Great for situations where there are multiple pallets of the same SKU that need high stock rotation.

Why Use Pallet Live Storage

As mentioned, pallet live storage works well for applications where density and first in, first out stock rotation is important. That being said, pallet live storage also works for situations where goods are waiting for dispatch to be shipped out, as they’re shipped in the order that they are received on the dock.

We can supply Colby pallet racking products that are certified Australian made.
