Pallet live storage is a type of pallet racking that is fed from the back, fed from the back, with rails automatically pushing pallets to the front. In this way, pallet live storage allows for very high density storage while still achieving a first in, first out system. Because of this, pallet live storage works well for situations that need good storage density and frequent stock rotation.

Because it’s loaded in the back and picked in the front, pallet live storage requires access to both the front and back of the racking for materials handling equipment. This does cost some storage space. But pallet rows can go much deeper than double deep pallet racking, which more than makes up for it.

As pallets are stored in rows, pallet live storage works best in situations where there are multiple pallets of the same SKU. This way all the pallets can go on the same row for easy picking.
