The Challenges

Project: Mezzanine office fit-out for gym

Client brief:

Pure MVMT are a calisthenics gym in Cranbourne West. Their gym works out of a converted warehouse space and is a top notch fitness space for people of all abilities.

Although they have a well fitted out and popular gym, every business needs office space as well. Pure MVMT needed additional office space for the operational aspects of their business that wouldn’t take up valuable gym floor space. Extending their existing warehouse style office via a mezzanine was an obvious choice.

This new office space needed to be easily accessible, modern, and well appointed to be presentable to both staff and clients. The additional office space also couldn’t take up any of the gym floor. It was also important that downtime for the business was kept to a minimum as the gym wanted to keep operating as much as possible.

Scope of works:

Pure MVMT needed mezzanine office space with all the modern touches. This wasn’t simply going to be a “tacked on afterthought.” The work included:

  • Sourcing all permits for work.
  • Designing the new office mezzanine including engineering design and certification.
  • Creating a mezzanine level in their existing converted warehouse space. This included custom fabricating the mezzanine level and the staircase;
  • Building the shell of the office space;
  • Fitting out the new office so it was fit for purpose;

Outcomes:

This was a complete end-to-end solution for Pure MVMT. We sourced the relevant permits for the work, all trades, and more to get the job done. Since we were able to custom fabricate much of the new mezzanine office space offsite, there was minimal disruption to the business while it was erected on site; the final fit-out could occur while the business was still operational.

The final new office space was well received by the client and the job was finished on time, on brief, and on budget.
