The Challenges
Project: Warehouse relocation and storage optimisation design and implementation.
Client Brief:
The client was relocating their business into a new warehouse and required a redesign of their warehouse storage requirements, including workflow plan which included a two level mezzanine picking floor and other works. This project was a full warehouse relocation that involved not just moving the contents of the warehouse, but reinstalling pallet racking and optimising the layout of the new warehouse.
Scope of Works:
– Warehouse Storage Optimisation Design:
- Designed an optimised the warehouse through a layout plan for the bulk pallet storage, including Narrow Aisle Racking;
- Stock workflow plan incorporating picking from a new mezzanine floor;
- New conveyor systems for loading and unloading stock to and from the mezzanine;
- Recommended matching MHE to suit the aisle widths and racking heights and accessibility.
– Pallet Racking Relocation and Installation:
- Racking disassembly, pack and strap for transport;
- Reconfiguration of racking with additional racking runs to plan;
- Racking inspection and certification.
– Outcomes:
- Project was completed on time and on budget with minimal disruption to the running of the business;
- We are proud to have been asked to deliver this complex warehouse relocation and additional works, which has provided the client with an optimised storage solution integrated with their overall business workflow.
